The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Marine Optical Characterization Experiment in situ pigment database for the Central North Pacific from the Americas to west of Hawaii during 1992 - 2004 (NODC Accession 0010454)
Abstract: This biological oceanographic dataset was derived from cruises in support of the the validation of satellite ocean color imagery data collected by the Sea-Viewing Wide-Field-of-View Sensor (SeaWiFS) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). Cruises were on various vessels over 1992-2004. Collection instruments varied among bottle, bucket, and cooler samples, Seabird, MLML, and SeaCAT sensors, pump systems, and vessel-mounted seachest/intake pipes. Includes both shipboard/field and laboratory fluorometrics. Collection methods varied among track continuous sampling, grid, profile, station, calibration, diver, and dock. This pigment database contains estimates of chlorophyll_a concentrations and many miscellaneous biological fields, such as PHAEO, TPG, phytin_a, chl_a_allom, chl_a_prime, mv_chl_a, to name a few.
