The data were collected by National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Highlands, NJ and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) located in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The data was collected as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) project. Data was submitted by Helen Philips to NODC. The temperature data collected at selected depths is available in the C125 Bathythermograph XBT format of NODC. |

Discrepancies had been noted while writing the abstract and new bounding box coordinates for this accession were extracted from the actual data in the C125 file. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).
