Title: SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard R/V Knorr from 2009-09-01 to 2009-09-30 (NCEI Accession 0061745)
Abstract: The data logging system on R/V Knorr recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the Caribbean Sea, Davis Strait, Gulf of St. Lawrence, Hudson Strait, Labrador Sea, North Atlantic Ocean and North Pacific Ocean from 2009-09-01 to 2009-09-30. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted four versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system, first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data, and second-level (visually) QCed data. This dataset contains all these data.
