| Abstract: | This dataset contains biological and survey - biological data collected on R/V Marcus G. Langseth, R/V Sally Ride, and R/V Sikuliaq during cruises MGL2207, SKQ202204S, SKQ202303S, and SR2317 in the North Pacific Ocean from 2022-03-02 to 2023-08-18. These data include stage and taxon. The instruments used to collect these data include MOCNESS. These data were collected by Robert K. Cowen and Su Sponaugle of Oregon State University and Kelly Rakow Sutherland of University of Oregon as part of the "Collaborative Research: Plankton size spectra and trophic links in a dynamic ocean (Plankton Size Spectra)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2024-04-10. The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO: Gelatinous zooplankton observations, March 2022 - AUgust 2023 Dataset Description: Methods and Sampling: Gelatinous zooplankton were sampled using MOCNESS (Multiple Opening-Closing Net and Environmental Sensing System) tows. The nets had opening of 1m2 and 4m2 with mesh sizes of 333µm and 1000µm, respectively. The dataset describes daytime samples only. |
