Title: Discrete hydrographic measurements - Effects of Hurricane Harvey on Estuarine Water Quality in the Lavaca-Colorado, Guadalupe and Nueces Estuaries between August 2017 and January 2018 (NCEI Accession 0278527)
Abstract: This dataset contains chemical and physical data collected on Small Boat during cruise Wetz_HurricaneHarveyTexasLagoons_discrete in the Gulf of Mexico from 2017-08-16 to 2018-01-23. These data include Ammonium, Nitrite, Nitrogen, SiOH_4, Total Dissolved Nitrogen, conductivity, depth, dissolved Oxygen, dissolved organic Carbon, nitrate plus nitrite, pH, reactive phosphorus (PO4), salinity from CTD, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include YSI Professional Plus Multi-Parameter Probe. These data were collected by Michael Wetz of Texas A&M, Corpus Christi as part of the "RAPID: Capturing the Signature of Hurricane Harvey on Texas Coastal Lagoons (Hurricane Harvey Texas Lagoons)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2020-03-03.

The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO:

Supplementary information: Acquisition Description:
Multiple hydrographic measurements were made at the stations Lavaca-Colorado (LC), Guadalupe (GE) and Nueces Estuaries (NE) on the Texas coast, using a YSI Proplus multi-parameter instrument (The parameters were read from the digital display unit). Vertical profiles of Sal, Cond, DO, DOPct, pH and Temp were taken at 0.5 m intervals. Discrete samples were collected at 10 cm below the surface and for some variables at 10 cm above the bottom. Secchi disc was lowered until it could no longer be viewed.

Sampling trips/deployments were conducted from one of five small (≤25’) outboard engine equipped boats: Guardian, Mango, Stinger, Gator, or Guppy. Each cruise was less than 12 hrs in duration.

Additional methodological details can be found in Wetz et al. 2016.
