Title: Water temperature collected at multiple depths from a mooring in southern Lake Michigan, Great Lakes region from 1990-06-08 to 2018-08-07 (NCEI Accession 0190726)
Abstract: Water temperature data was collected at multiple depths on a single mooring in the southern basin of Lake Michigan from June 1990 through August 2018. Vertical temperatures were collected every three hours from 1990-1995 and hourly since the summer of 1995. In 1990, thermistors were located at 11 depths, by 2018 temperatures were collected at 18 depths; maximum depth of this mooring location was 155 m. The brands of thermistors used have changed over the years, but all have an accuracy of ±0.05 °C or better. The temperature measurements were collected as continuously as possible during this time period, note there are some breaks in the temporal collection for maintaining equipment annually or due to loss of equipment. Each netCDF file contains the data for a single mooring deployment since thermistor depths vary between deployments.
