Title: Water depth, acoustic backscatter, and other data collected from NOAA Ship Nancy Foster and Fugro LADS Mark II Airborne System in Caribbean Sea and US Virgin Islands - Shoals from 2011-03-29 to 2011-04-16 (NCEI Accession 0131858)
Abstract: The Center for Coastal Monitoring and Assessment (CCMA) completed its eighth year of an ongoing scientific research mission on board NOAA Ship Nancy Foster from March 29 to April 16, 2011. The objective of this project was to collect a multibeam bathymetry dataset with 100 percent seafloor ensonification, multibeam backscatter, and airborne LiDAR bathymetry suitable for seafloor characterization in high-priority conservation areas. This report applies to NOAA Ship Nancy Foster MBES surveys W00216 and W00217 in the insular shelf, south of St. Thomas and St. John, and airborne LiDAR surveys of the northern shoals of the US Virgin Islands, including Buck Island and Salt River, St. Croix.
