The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Dissolved inorganic carbon, pH, alkalinity, temperature, salinity and other variables collected from discrete sample and profile observations using CTD, bottle and other instruments from POLARSTERN in the South Atlantic Ocean from 1992-09-29 to 1992-11-30 (NCEI Accession 0117714)
Abstract: This dataset includes biological, chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from POLARSTERN in the South Atlantic Ocean from 1992-09-29 to 1992-11-30 and retrieved during cruise 06ANTX_6. These data include AMMONIUM (NH4), CHLOROPHYLL A, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, Dissolved Organic Nitrogen, FLUORESCENCE, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PARTICULATE ORGANIC NITROGEN (PON), PHOSPHATE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, SILICATE, TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), WATER TEMPERATURE and pH. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle. These data were collected by M. Stoll and Hein de Baar of Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, Dorothee C. E. Bakker of University of East Anglia; School of Environmental Sciences and V. Smetacek of Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, and J. Rommets of Netherlands Institute for Sea Research as part of the CARINA/06AQ19920929, ANTX_6 data set.

The CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent dataset of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.
