Please note: a summer 1995 dewpoint observation of 90 degrees F, recorded in Appleton Wisconsin, although never recognized by the National Climate Extremes Committee, has been widely reported as the extreme dewpoint temperature for the United States. Local National Weather Service officials have determined this observation to be erroneous, and it has been flagged as such in the relevant NOAA archives. To date, there remains no official NOAA value for extreme dewpoint temperature evaluated by the National Climate Extremes Committee.
