This April, NCEI will be participating at NC SciFEST's Mountain Science Expo for a day filled with fun STEM-related learning activities. NCEI is proud to be in their 13th year of collaboration with the western North Carolina-based science expo in Asheville, North Carolina at the North Carolina Arboretum

The Mountain Science Expo is a part of the NC SciFEST, a month-long event celebrating science outreach, impact, and education in North Carolina. The expo theme this year is “State of Innovation,” which highlights how science is being cultivated in North Carolina. Both the NC SciFEST and Mountain Science Expo hope to inspire children to pursue science and encourage adults to support scientific education.

More than a dozen organizations are participating in the expo this year, providing opportunities for people of all ages to interact with scientists and scientific educators in a hands-on environment.

Participants of the expo also have the opportunity to visit the North Carolina Arboretum’s Azalea Collections for a special Native Azalea Day event. Shuttle buses will be provided to the Azalea Collections on the day of the event.
