Twenty-two of 26 trees were dated from this very open stand.
We were only able to sample 27 pre-settlement trees within 50 m radius
of plot center.  All were either living or stumps except for 2 snags.
Trees dated to the early 1700s cohort (11 trees between 1721 and 1730)
or had piths scattered in the latter 1700s to latter 1800s.  Fire scars
were common on the stumps, and included a unique scar on one tree at 1777.
A scar also was recorded on one tree at 1819 while other trees recorded
scars at the more common date of 1822.
