Twenty-eight of 31 trees were crossdated.  Twenty-three of
these trees (stumps, logs, and snags; bark dates on 3 stumps were in
1985 and on four were in 1955) dated to the late 1700s, with pith dates
from 1769 to 1778.  One stump had a pith date of 1757, a log dated
to 1669, another log to 1616, and two snags dated to 1554 and 1555.
Two of these latter trees dated through the middle 1700s and no unusual
growth responses were noted on the sections.  Fire scar dates include
many of the common fire years.  1823 was recorded instead of 1822 (on
two trees) and 1691 instead of 1692 (on one tree).  1863 was the most
commonly recorded year, and two trees recorded scars in 1910.
