These terms describe the quantity measured, the material on which it was measured, reported error, units, analytical or statistical methods, transformations made to raw data, reconstructed seasonality, data type, and data format. Standard terms organize heterogeneous paleoclimate datasets and improve the findability, interoperability, and reusability of data. # Versioning of the PaST thesaurus is described in the thesaurus governance document at: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/PaST-thesaurus/PaST-governance.pdf. SKOS representations of released versions are in https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/PaST-thesaurus/SKOS. SKOS that is downloadable from the PaST Navigator (https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo-search/cvterms) includes incremental changes made since the last version release. # CHANGELOG: # 12-2-2020: Version 1.0 available at https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/PaST-thesaurus/SKOS/past-thesaurus-v1-0.rdf #-------------------- # Publication # Authors: Morrill, C.; Thrasher, B.; Lockshin, S.; Gille, E.P.; McNeill, S.; Shepherd, E.; Gross, W.S.; Bauer, B.A. # Published_Date_or_Year: submitted # Published_Title: The Paleoenvironmental Standard Terms (PaST) Thesaurus: Standardizing heterogeneous measured variables in paleoscience # Journal_Name: Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology # Volume: # Edition: # Issue: # Pages: # Report_Number: # DOI: # Online_Resource: # Full_Citation: # Abstract: #------------------ # Funding_Agency # Funding_Agency_Name: National Science Foundation # Grant: AGS-1545762 #------------------ # Funding_Agency # Funding_Agency_Name: NOAA Climate Program Office # Grant: NA17OAR4320101 #------------------ # Site_Information # Site_Name: # Location: Global # Northernmost_Latitude: 90 # Southernmost_Latitude: -90 # Easternmost_Longitude: 180 # Westernmost_Longitude: -180 # Elevation: #------------------ # Data_Collection # Collection_Name: # Earliest_Year: # Most_Recent_Year: # Time_Unit: # Core_Length: (in meters) # Notes: #------------------ # Chronology_Information # Chronology: #---------------- # Variables #---------------- # Data: # Data lines follow (have no #) # Data line format - tab-delimited text, variable short name as header # Missing_Values: (Value used to flag missing data in the table below) #
