The NOAA Ocean Exploration Data Atlas is an interactive map providing access to a continuously-updated archive of NOAA Ocean Exploration data, information, and products. This map viewer will eventually replace the NOAA Ocean Exploration Digital Atlas.
INSTRUCTIONS:
The left pane includes two tabs: FILTERS to search through the available data collections and a LAYER LIST of geospatial services within the interactive map.
The right pane shows a list of NOAA Ocean Exploration expeditions included within the Data Atlas - this list changes as filter criteria are applied in the left pane, or when a selection is made.
Zoom into a particular cruise or set of cruises by using the ZOOM TO RESULTS button in the FILTERS pane or the SHOW ON MAP text in the right pane.
Zoom in and out of the map with the and buttons, with your mouse wheel, or pinch/zoom on a touchscreen device.
Go to the default map view with .
Select the basemap with .
Display the map legend with .
The "Select Expeditions by Geometry" tools allow you to search within a specified geographic region. You can either draw a rectangle on the map or specify a bounding box using latitude/longitude (XY). These tools are located at the upper-right corner of the map.
The "Measurement" tools allow you to measure distance by line or area by polygon . The measurement units can be specified. These tools are located at the upper-right corner of the map.
Search filters may be reset via the RESET FILTER button on the left pane or the RESET FILTER text in the upper-right corner of the right pane.
Click features on the map to display a popup window, with more information and download links. The popup can also be displayed using the SHOW ON MAP buttons for each expedition.
This help dialog can be opened using the button at the upper-right corner of the screen.
